Solar panels are made from layers of semi-conducting material that creates a flow of electricity when light shines on it. They don’t need direct sunlight and can work on cloudy days, and are normally grouped together into an array that comes in various shapes and sizes that can be fitted directly onto your roof or on the ground.

The electricity generated is converted by an inverter and links to your existing power distribution system for use in your home. Any excess will be returned to the grid generating you an income.
Since the government feed in tariff (FIT) is no longer available, rates for returning electricity to the grid are low and we also install a range of smart devices which can maximise the solar power used directly in your home.
BATTERY STORAGE
Battery storage systems work in tandem with your solar PV installation to capture any excess electricity that you don’t use in your home, for use in the evening when your solar panels are no longer generating power.
Battery storage works with a smart hybrid inverter that will automatically divert any excess electricity to your battery, only exporting to the grid when the battery is full. This allows you to enjoy free electricity in the evening, long after your solar panels have stopped generating electricity.
Battery storage systems can also be utilised to take advantage of dual rate electricity tariffs, allowing you to charge your battery through the night, storing cheap electricity for use during the day.
SMART EV CHARGERS
Solar PV compatible EV chargers will automatically use excess solar energy to charge your electric vehicle. Simply leave your EV plugged in and the system will divert any excess electricity to charge your vehicle battery.
HOT WATER BOOST KITS
In the same way as a smart EV charger works, a hot water boost kit can be linked to your solar PV system to use any excess electricity generated from your solar panels. This electricity is used to boost the temperature of your hot water cylinder, meaning that your heat pump has less work to do when you need hot water.
