Deeside Timberframe - Solar PV
Client: Deeside Timber Frame
Technology: Solar PV
Deeside Timberframe is a forward-thinking timber frame manufacturer and puts environmental concerns at the forefront of their efforts, so a solar PV installation seemed like the natural extension for the company.
The project was awarded to us following a competitive bidding process, from which we were chosen based on our capability and previous experience, and our team worked closely with the client to accommodate their ambitions of reducing the carbon footprint, and operating costs of their energy intensive operations.
Working alongside our parent company, The Glencairn Group, we co-ordinated the installation of the solar PV system to co-inside with the construction of an extension to the facility, which required close co-ordination between the teams working onsite.
All works were carried out in a live manufacturing environment, which required close co-ordination with the operational teams on site, to minimise disruption to the site. This included working out with working hours to ensure that energy supplies were uninterrupted, and that access equipment could move freely on the factory floor. Working closely with the site team, we were able to remain on schedule and have the system fully installed in 3 weeks, minimising site disruption.
The clean renewable energy generated from the 113kWp solar PV system will be used in various places throughout the site such as their equipment and EV chargers etc., with the remaining exported to provide an additional revenue source.
