Persimmon Homes - Shieldhill

Client: Persimmon Homes - East Scotland
Technology: Solar PV

Distrikt Energy were appointed to design and install integrated solar PV systems across 91 new-build properties at a major housing development in Shieldhill, near Falkirk.

Scope of Works

Our team delivered a fully integrated solution, installing Longi PV modules on GSE Integration frames, allowing the panels to sit flush with the surrounding roof tiles for a seamless finish. The systems were coupled with Growatt inverters installed within each property, ensuring efficient conversion of solar generation for domestic use.

In total, we installed 253 PV modules, with a combined annual generation capacity of around 76,000 kWh of clean electricity. This not only helps future residents reduce their reliance on grid electricity but also contributes to long-term carbon reduction goals.

Challenges and Delivery

The works formed part of a wider housing programme on a busy live construction site, requiring close collaboration with the principal contractor and site team. Careful coordination was essential to ensure our installation team worked in sync with the main construction programme, minimising disruption and maintaining programme momentum.

Outcome

The project has delivered:

  • A high-quality, aesthetically integrated solar PV system on every property.

  • An estimated 76,000 kWh of renewable electricity per year, supporting lower energy bills for residents.

  • A significant reduction in carbon emissions across the development.

  • Smooth delivery through effective planning and coordination.

At Distrikt Energy, we pride ourselves on delivering integrated renewable solutions that add value to both developers and homeowners. This project in Shieldhill is a strong example of how we combine technical expertise, site coordination, and quality workmanship to deliver renewable energy systems at scale, safely, and on programme.
